About Otay Ranch

Otay Ranch is a master planned community in Chula Vista, California. There are a variety of single family homes and apartments in this neighborhood. Residents enjoy being close to schools, parks, stores, and restaurants.

This community is served by the Chula Vista Elementary School District with highly rated facilities like Wolf Canyon Elementary. The Sweetwater Union High School District is in charge of the older grades with excellent schools such as Rancho Del Rey Middle and Olympian High. There are also many private facilities to choose from including St. Rose of Lima School, Saint John’s Episcopal School, Mater Dei Catholic High School, and Lutheran High School of San Diego. Southwestern College makes its home here and is one of four private colleges in San Diego County.

There are several shopping centers in the city including the Chula Vista Center, Bonita Point Plaza, and The Marketplace at Windingwalk. The Otay Ranch Center is just across Freeway 5. Chula Vista has the South Bay’s longest running farmers market which offers local and seasonal produce. This market sells fruits, vegetables, plants, and flowers.

Residents have easy access to freeways and the Brown Field Municipal Airport is within minutes. There are several golf courses like the Salt Creek Golf Club and the Chula Vista Golf Course. And there are many recreational venues like the Upper Otay Reservoir and the Lower Otay Lake both of which are popular with boaters and fishermen.

Chula Vista has one of the only year-round training centers for the United States Olympic Team. This facility helps athletes in softball, tennis, archery, kayaking, rowing, cycling, and hockey as well as track and field. This is Southern California’s seventh largest city and the second largest in the San Diego area. Its economy relies on tourism and the city offers many shopping, cinema, and dining experiences.
